I Just Wanted To Defend Nicki Minaj Because I Feel Like The She Is Getting A Horrible Rep From What People See Of Her Now. I Heard Around The Class That Nicki Is A Horrible Rapper But I Beg The Differ. I Believe That She Can Spit Just That She Not Spitting About What Rappers Usually Spit About. She's Trying To Sell Records And Get That Cross Over Money And The Way To Do That Is By Making Song That Are Appealing To The Pop Stations. Here Are Some Old Nicki Tracks That I Believe Should Be Thought Of Before Saying She Cant Rap.

Post 5

For this weeks post I would like to talk about songs that are meant to be funny. The songs are real legit songs but the message behind them are funny and entertaining. I always found the SNL Digital Shorts to be real funny and creative when it comes to their songs. The first SNL Digital Short I ever seen was the "Lazy Sunday" skit in which Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell raps about this Sunday where they had nothing to do so they went out to see the movie The Chronicles of Narnia. The song is really funny. Their are also other song where they would get a guest feature from a popular recording artist. To be completely honest, a lot of the songs are really selling and are big in the music industry. Some are on the billboard charts and everything. Here are a few videos of there work, you can easily find some different ones on youtube.

Post 4

This week post I would like to talk about something that I find real creative within hip-hop. Certain rappers I personally find to be geniuses within their own field. They can make rap song that are really really amazing and different. It shows some real creative type of writing coming from rappers that some hardly finished high school. I find Nas and Lupe Fiasco to be two of the most creative writers within the rap world.

A couple of songs I would like to point out to y'all is Nas "I Gave You Power", "Rewind", "Who Killed It?" and Lupe Fiasco "All Black Everything"

In the song "I Gave You Power" Nas is rapping from a point of view of a gun. Pretty much he is the gun and he is rapping about the day in the life of a legel handgun owned by must likely a young drug dealer. He made the gun have a mind and a conscience.

"Always I'm in some shit, my abdomen is the clip, the barrel is my dick, uncircumcised pull my skin back and cock me, I bust off when they unlock me..."

Another Nas track that is very creative is the song "Rewind". In this song Nas is rapping a story like any other rap song but whats so special about this song is that he is telling the story BACKWARDS.

And the last Nas track that I found real creative is the song "Who Killed It?". The song is basically about Nas who is playing a investigator trying to find out who exactly killed hip-hop. He takes us on a journey throughout the whole song and its just real cool when you really sit there and listen to it.

Now "All Black Everything" by Lupe Fiasco is very very VERY creative. He takes us on a dream he had where world was different with different historical events being done a different way. For example he says "First 400 years, see we actually enjoyed it. Constitution written by W.E.B. Du Bois". Pretty much he's saying picture the United States today if slavery never happened and instead of rich white men like Thomas Jefferson and Samuel Adams helping write the Constitution a black man, ideally W.E.B. Du Bois helps writes it. Another good verse i enjoyed was "Extra extra on the news stands, black woman voted head of Ku Klux Klan. Malcolm Little dies as a old man, Martin Luther King reads the eulogy for him. Followed by Bill O'Reilly who read from the Quran. President Bush sends condolences from Iran, Where FOX News reports live that Ahmadinejad wins Mandela peace prize." That whole verse is just awesome to me. The 2nd verse is also as great as the 1st verse so I recommend you just listen to the whole song a couple of times just to make sure you hear all about this awesome dream Lupe had.

Adam Levine voice plus the piano is awesome. I was listening to the Maroon 5 "Overexposed" album for the first time yesterday afternoon during my work shift and I fell for this one song real heavy. While listening to this song I thought about the AABA stuff we was learning in class and it felt like this song fit perfectly with the format. So I decided to try it out right here on my blog (feel free to correct me if you see any mistakes). This song, to me, is painting a picture of regrat. A man who is just feeling depressed because he feels that he ain't giving his all into a relationship and that the female deserves more then what he is giving.

(Course) Man, it's been a longday
Stuckthinking 'bout it driving on the freeway
Wonderingif I really tried everything I could
Notknowing if I should try a little harder

(A)Oh, but I'm scared to death
Thatthere may not be another one like this
And I confess that I'm only holding on by athin thin thread
(B)I'm kicking the curb cause you never heard
Thewords that you needed so bad

(B) And I'm kicking the dirt cause I never gave you
The place that you needed to have
(C) I'm so sad, saaad
(Course) Man,it's been a long night
Justsitting here, trying not to look back
Stilllooking at the road we never drove on
And wondering if the one I chose was theright one
(A)Oh, but I'm scared to death
Thatthere may not be another one like this
And I confess that I'm only holding on by athin thin thread
(B)I'm kicking the curb cause you never heard
Thewords that you needed so bad

(B) And I'm kicking the dirt cause I never gave you
The place that you needed to have
(C) I'm so sad, saaad

(C) I'm so sad, so sad
(A)Oh, but I'm scared to death
Thatthere may not be another one like this
And I confess that I'm only holding on by athin thin thread
(B)I'm kicking the curb cause you never heard
Thewords that you needed so bad

(B) And I'm kicking the dirt cause I never gave you
Theplace that you needed to have

(B) And I'm kicking the curb cause you never heard
The words that you needed so bad
(C) I'm so sad, so sad

This song bring chills down my spine for some reason and it has me thinking about my past relationships and other girly emotions. I've been listening to Maroon 5 since high school and I never gotten the chance to listen to their "Hands all Over" album which I am mad at myself for but "Overexposed" "Songs about Jane" and "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" are all great albums. I recommend you listen to this.......

The rapper Lil B many will say is one of the most wackiest rappers to ever step foot into a recording booth. Some will say that they do not like Lil B's style and that he is killing the hip-hop world. Others would beg the differ, that Lil B or Base God as he likes to be called is very motivational and positive. Yes his style is different from many of the rappers you see today and his lyric/flow/rapping skills/vocab isn't really at the levels of say some of the greats such as Nas or Jay-Z but theres more to Lil B then just that. Lil B is preaches positivity and peace on earth. Lil B is doing more for the rap game then a lot of these so call main stream/ underground rappers are doing.  Millions upon millions of Lil B songs are around the net with millions more to come. Their are also many rare collectable mixtapes that are floating around the internet.  Lil B is one of the hardest working rappers out. And through with first listen Lil B sounds like a corny kid trying to rap but if you give it a shot you'll see the deeper picture in his lyrics. Listen to Lil B with a clean heart and you'll know what I'm talking about.

"I just want to know where I come from just tell me the truth before I am going to dissolve, man is connected to the woods the wilderness is my home, the world say I'm bad because my color, but they don't get the fact I said that I love ya"  --- Lil B
